From the time of its inception, Rotary Club, Mokokchung on the 18th June, 1976, it inlaid its activities suiting to its age and the then prevailing environment helping the needy students, the poor and projecting plans for community, vocational and club services. In collaboration with the Government and other agencies R.C.M. put its services in times of natural calamities, eradication of poliomyelitis which is a sore disease in the most developing or under developed countries on earth and other immunization programmes all around the district. R.C.M. took a bold project in its hand to construct a M.C.H. (Mother-Child Health) care centre. Rotarians one and all plunged into this project; mobilized the public morals through its nobility of project and philanthrophic ideals. Many generous donors came forward to contribute their shares and M.C.H. is realized from its hazy dream. Though Polio Plus and Immunization services are on, yet it has still to move forward for fully equipped, staffed and make it functionable with minimal facilities to the public. What R.C.M. can do. R.C.M. is a voluntary organization. Its membership is open to all those who has the desire to serve the humanity without expecting any award or reward. R.C.M. can do many things at the regional, national and international levels helping the helpless, needy and the disabled people if co-operation is extended to R.C.M. by the public and individuals by sharing their ideas, experiences and talents. Rotary Clubs function in close co-ordination with Rotary International which has taken up global burning isues like health care, education and international understandings. It’s a non-political organization. It does not rule but takes care of the Rules and the ruled that how much love, sympathy and care it can make available to the people at the global level. For example, R.I. desires and aims to eradicate Poliomyelitis completely by 2005. It would be an utmost effort of all Rotarians of the present to preserve the image of the Club which their predecessors have so diligently polished it and kept it untarnished. This statement does reserve the opinions of the people all around.
